Camer Vibes stands on the work of many people. This page thanks the open projects we use and says what is real and what is made up.

Draft: to be reviewed by legal counsel before launch

The short version

  • Maps come from OpenStreetMap, © OpenStreetMap contributors, under the ODbL licence.
  • We use open fonts and libraries, listed below.
  • Names of people, companies and shops are fictional: no real brand appears.
  • Some residents are simulated characters, not real players.

1.Maps: OpenStreetMap

The streets, buildings and places of the game are built from OpenStreetMap data, © OpenStreetMap contributors, available under the ODbL licence (openstreetmap.org/copyright). Street names are real; the styling, facades and shops are generated by the game. Thank you to everyone who maps Cameroon.

2.Fonts

Figtree, Bricolage Grotesque and Geist Mono, published under the SIL Open Font License 1.1.

3.Open-source software

Three.js (MIT) for 3D, React and Next.js (MIT), Base UI (MIT), Zustand (MIT), Apollo Client (MIT), Colyseus (MIT) for real time, Lucide (ISC) for icons, NestJS (MIT) and PostgreSQL with PostGIS on the server. The full licence of each project is available from its authors.

4.Fictional names, no real brands

The characters, companies, shops and events in the game are made up. Any resemblance to real people or companies is a coincidence. We use no real brand or logo. The city is seen in 2035: the futuristic additions are fiction.

5.Simulated residents

Some residents and colleagues in the game are simulated characters ("V-players") who fill jobs when no player does. They are labelled in the game and are not real people.
