1.About these terms
These terms apply to the Camer Vibes website, apps and game. Gwislab is the publisher (legal name: [to be completed before launch]; address: [to be completed before launch]; registration number: [to be completed before launch]). Contact: [email protected].
They include our privacy policy and the rules shown in the game, such as the notice on each money screen and the community and refund rules. Where a rule in the game is stricter for safety reasons, the stricter rule applies.
You accept the terms by ticking the box when you sign up or by using the game. If you do not agree, please do not use it. The terms exist in four languages; if they differ, the French and English versions apply.
2.Who can play: 18 and over
Camer Vibes is for adults. You must be 18 or older to create an account, play, buy Coins or receive gifted Coins. You confirm this when you sign up, and our server checks it. If you give a date of birth, it must show 18 or more.
You also confirm that you can legally accept these terms and that what you tell us is true. If we find that you are under 18, we close the account and refund unspent paid Coins. Do not let a minor use your account.
3.Your account
One person, one account. Your username is public: it must not impersonate anyone, be offensive or contain contact details.
- Keep your password and codes secret. You are responsible for what happens on your account unless you tell us quickly that it was compromised.
- You can add a verified phone number or email; without one, we cannot recover a lost password.
- You can link a Google account to sign in, and unlink it in Settings.
- Do not sell, buy, trade, lend or transfer accounts.
- Do not create new accounts to get around a suspension or a limit.
You can stop playing at any time. To close your account, write to [email protected]; the privacy policy explains what happens to your data.
4.Acceptable behaviour and safety
Camer Vibes is a shared city. Be respectful. You must not:
- harass, threaten or bully anyone, or attack people because of their origin, tribe, language, region, religion, gender, sexuality or disability;
- share sexual content, content that exploits minors, content that glorifies violence or self-harm, or anything illegal;
- impersonate staff or other players;
- scam or phish, or share phone numbers, links or payment requests in chat, or offer real-money trades;
- cheat: bots, automation, exploits, modified clients, multiple accounts to farm rewards, or abusing bugs (report them instead);
- attack or overload the service, probe it, scrape it, reverse-engineer it or access other people's accounts;
- make false reports or abuse the police and detective careers to bother other players.
Police and detective careers are game roles with strict rules, not real authority. If you feel unsafe, block and report from any message or player card. If someone is in danger in real life, call your local emergency services: the game cannot.
Messages are filtered automatically. Repeated attempts to get around the filters can lead to sanctions.
5.Your content and moderation
You keep ownership of what you create and write (names, messages, posts, builds, decoration, photos you share). You give us a free, worldwide licence to host, display, copy and adapt it as needed to run the game, show it to other players and moderate it.
You promise that you have the right to share it and that it respects these terms. Do not share what you do not own.
We moderate. We filter messages before they are shown, review reports, and may hide or remove content, force a rename, mute, warn, suspend or close accounts. The sanction depends on how serious the case is and on your history. Serious cases (threats, child safety, fraud) can lead to immediate closure and, where the law requires, a report to the authorities.
If you think a decision is wrong, write to us and we will look at it again.
6.vCFA and Coins
vCFA is the in-game money you earn and spend in the world. Coins are a virtual item you can buy with real money (when purchases are open) and convert, one way, into vCFA or spend on game items.
Both are virtual items of the game, licensed to you for use in the game only. They have no cash value, they are not real CFA francs, and they are not a deposit, a bank account or an investment.
- No cash-out, ever. vCFA and Coins can never be converted into real money, withdrawn or redeemed outside the game. Coins can become vCFA; vCFA never becomes Coins or money.
- No real-money trading. Do not sell, buy, trade or give vCFA, Coins, items, accounts, houses or land for real money, Mobile Money, airtime or anything outside the game, in chat or anywhere else. We block this talk and sanction it.
- Gifts. Only paid Coins can be gifted, between friends who are both 18 or older, within daily and weekly limits and after a waiting period. Some gifts are held for review. Free Coins cannot be gifted.
- Anti-fraud. We may hold, limit, reverse or remove vCFA, Coins and items obtained through fraud, exploits, chargebacks, stolen payment methods, duplication or breaking these terms, and we may lock the store, gifting or conversion while a dispute is open.
- Debt. If a refund or chargeback happens after Coins were spent, your paid Coins balance can become negative. Until it is repaid, the store, gifting and conversion are locked, and new purchases repay the debt first.
- Corrections. We may correct balances to fix errors. Every movement is recorded in the ledger.
Prices in the game are in vCFA unless a screen says it is real money. Every screen that shows vCFA reminds you that it is virtual.
If your account is closed for breaking the rules, the vCFA and Coins on it are lost.
7.Purchases and refunds
Coins are sold through our separate payment provider, in real money (for example XAF, and other currencies where offered). The price, taxes and fees are shown before you pay. Only adults can buy. Limits apply to new accounts and per month to fight fraud. Coins are delivered once, right after the payment is confirmed.
Coins are digital content delivered immediately. Once delivered they are not refundable, except in these cases and where the law requires it:
- you paid but the Coins did not arrive: we deliver them or refund you (we aim for 24 hours);
- you were charged twice: we refund the duplicate;
- an unauthorised payment (stolen card or phone): refund after we investigate, and the account may be reviewed;
- a purchase by a minor, once confirmed: refund of the unspent paid Coins;
- you changed your mind and spent no Coins: a goodwill refund if you ask within 14 days, once per account every 12 months.
Refunds go back to the original payment method through our payment provider, and the matching Coins are taken back. If you are a consumer in the EU or UK, you have a 14-day right of withdrawal for digital content unless you expressly agree to immediate delivery and acknowledge that you lose it; we ask for this before payment. Nothing in these terms limits consumer rights that cannot be waived under applicable law.
To ask for a refund, write to [email protected] with your username and the payment reference. We keep payment records for accounting, as the law requires.
If your account is deleted, unspent Coins are forfeited unless the law says otherwise.
Purchases of Coins may not be open in every country, or from the first day of launch. We tell you when they are.
8.The game world and virtual players
Camer Vibes is a game set in Douala, Yaoundé, Buea and Bamenda in 2035. Street geometry comes from OpenStreetMap (© OpenStreetMap contributors); everything else is fiction. Businesses, brands, people, events and prices in the game are invented. Nothing in the game is real legal, medical, financial or career advice.
Some townsfolk and workers in the game are virtual characters run by the game, not players. They never start private messages or friend requests and never claim to be human; if you ask them “Are you for real?”, they tell the truth.
We may adjust game rules, prices, wages, events and balances to keep the game fun and fair.
Njangi in the game is a game savings circle played with game money: no interest and no real-money payout. It is not a real financial product.
9.Our rights and your licence
The game, its software, art, music, texts, processed maps, logos and names (including “Camer Vibes” and “Vibes UI”) belong to Gwislab or its licensors, except the OpenStreetMap data (under the ODbL licence) and open-source parts under their own licences.
We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the game for your own non-commercial entertainment, as long as you follow these terms. You may not copy it, sell it, reverse-engineer it, build commercial services on it or use bots.
Feedback you send may be used by us freely and without obligation.
10.Suspension and ending
You can stop using Camer Vibes at any time. We can warn, limit, suspend or close your account, remove content or items, or stop a purchase, when you break these terms or the law, when we must protect others, or when the law or an authority requires it. We try to explain why, unless the law or safety prevents us.
Serious breaches (fraud, real-money trading, threats, child safety) can lead to immediate closure, without compensation for virtual items. Closing an account does not cancel what you owe, and does not remove the refund rights that apply by law.
After closure, the privacy policy explains what happens to your data. The parts of these terms that are meant to continue (ownership, liability, governing law) continue.
11.Availability, changes and disclaimers
We work to keep the game running, but it is provided “as is” and “as available”. There can be outages, maintenance, bugs, resets during test phases, and network problems on your side.
We may change, add or remove features, items, prices and events, and we try to give notice of big changes. If we ever end the service, we will tell you in advance and treat paid, unspent Coins fairly, as the law requires.
We are not responsible for things outside our control, such as telecom or power failures, third-party services (payment partners, Google) or your own device.
12.Liability
Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law (for example for fraud, intentional fault, or death or personal injury caused by our negligence), or your rights as a consumer.
Within what the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for the loss of virtual items, vCFA, Coins or progress caused by your breach of these terms, by incidents outside our reasonable control, or by you sharing your credentials. Our total liability for a claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the event.
You are responsible for your content and your conduct.
13.Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Cameroon, in particular its rules on electronic commerce, consumer protection, cybersecurity and personal data. If you live elsewhere, the mandatory consumer-protection rules of your country still apply to you.
We first try to settle any dispute amicably: write to [email protected]. If that fails, the competent courts of Cameroon have jurisdiction, unless mandatory law lets you go to the courts of the place where you live.
14.Changes to these terms
We may update these terms, for example when the game, the law or our services change. The date at the top shows the last change. For material changes we tell you before they apply (in the game or by email) and may ask you to accept again. If you do not agree, stop playing and close your account. Playing on after the change takes effect means you accept it.
